It's true! You can burn off extra calories by LYAO ("laughing your a** off"- for the not so internet saavy)!

As they say, sometimes laughter is the best medicine. Not only could laughter help in burning off some extra calories (up to 40 calories with 15 minutes of laughter), there are several other reasons laughter is good for your health:

  • Increases oxygen in the blood
  • Reduces muscle tension (I know I need that!)
  • Your heart loves laughter
  • And laughter produces good chemicals in the brain (endorphins)
It's because of the increased heart rate and blood flow caused by laughter, you will burn off extra calories.

Nowadays life is stressful. Right here in America, you have a poor economy, war, intense presidential race, and so much more contributing to stress in all of us.

Firstly, the best way to deal with anything in life is by living healthier. That is the secret to living a stress less life. Eating healthy foods, exercise, sleep, and drinking plenty of water a day will do wonders for not just your body as far as fat loss and weight loss, but also for your mentality and emotions. But to take it a step farther, maintain things in your life that will give you joy and laughter.

Some of the things I personally enjoy which ALWAYS gives me a good laugh (besides my children, my crazy wife, and pets) are:

- T.V. shows & movies: South Park, Family Guy, Reno 911, King Of Queens, all three Rush Hour movies (Chris Tucker is hilarious!), Meet The Fockers, Meet The Parents.

So, besides just doing the basic core principles of a healthy lifestyle to lose weight and improve your overall, add on a heavy dose of laughter to help burn off some extra calories and reduce stress in your life.

    I tend to positive and cheerful most of the time but I do not really have a really good laugh very often. I find that I have to be with other people who are laughing to really start me off.

    Laughing is not only an excellent way to lose a few pounds, but it is also as essential for your health and well being as proper diet, exercise, and sleep. And it's always fun to laugh at George w.

    Laughter is a great medicine. I love watching comedy shows on TV (America's Funniest Home Videos) and movies (Major Payne, Dodgeball, Rush Hour etc). And my kids keep me laughing too. They're hilarious.
