I received an e-mail from Carrie of the Lifetime Channel (I'm assuming), and she asked if I can share with you guys the launch of a new weight loss show coming out called Diet Tribe.

Here is the e-mail:

Hi, I wanted to share with you and the readers of “Health and Weight Loss” news about Lifetime’s new reality show Diet Tribe. Diet Tribe is Lifetime's new reality series that follows the emotional journey of five friends as they attempt to go from "fat" to "fit."

These women have made a commitment to lose their unwanted pounds together. With the help of professional fitness trainer Jessie Pavelka and psychotherapist Stacy Kaiser (of "Celebrity Fit Club" fame), each woman will change her eating and exercise habits over the course of three months and confront the issues that caused her to gain weight initially.

Watch as close friends work hard both mentally and physically to turn their lives around and look great for one of the girl’s upcoming wedding.

Don’t miss the premiere of “Diet Tribe” January 5Th at 10 pm et/pt!!!! Watch the “Diet Tribe” trailer right now: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-plSUIZrxs4&feature=channel_page.

Also, for more information about the cast and crew of “Diet Tribe” visit here: http://www.mylifetime.com/on-tv/shows/diettribe

Sounds interesting. It seems like something similar to The Biggest Loser. I'll check it out when it premieres January 5TH.

Hey guys, I'm a little upset this morning. I was browsing around one of my favorite message boards, bodybuilding.com, and came across a post that was utterly disturbing.

Apparently, one of our fine soldiers of the United States Army decided to do what it took to lose weight and get in great shape. He then proceeded to share his journey with the fellow members on the bodybuilding.com and some idiot decided to e-mail this guy with some unbelievably offensive comments.

Here is the post on bodybuilding.com:

Soldier:
I just started posting here a few days ago and have lost a good 22 lbs in the last few weeks, I decided to post a before picture today and here's an email I received... this guys account says he's inactive, but, obviously not.

Idiot:
You look disgusting, and need a tarp to put over that body, It caused my wife to throw up, and made me pretty sick as well. Is this some type of joke?

Not funny, please cover up, until you lose that 150 pounds of cellulite. thank you for serving our country. You just have really poor taste and manners.

Soldier:
Wow, I've never been this mad at someone I've never met. You sir, are a jerk. You and your wife can kiss my ass.

Idiot:
omg, what a sick sight. Your naked ass is nothing to joke about. If anything you should be motivated to lose a hundy, and take pictures that are not so offensive. Being in the fitness industry, I did not mean to offend you, but just point out the fact that you are a fat ass. I sure hope your wife is not a fat ass. I have 3 suggestions for you and your wife. Gym membership, Teach her to cook with less fat, or TERM LIFE INSURANCE. at least she will benefit from your demise. and Please, for all the bikini goddesses that have weak stomach, would you please put on a shirt. My wife also made a suggestion, Do Cardio out the ass!! Until you Puke, Your so obese, its best to burn fat calories. then get to the weights, that's free advice from a bikini model, that has a weak stomach. and show some respect to women please.

Soldier:
Well, I guess it's just your way.

1. The Army provides a great gym.
2. $400,000 Servicemens group life insurance (from the Army).
3. Doing Atkins and Cardio and have lost 22 lbs in the last 20 days.

"Offensive"? You are being ridiculous, I've seen much worse before pictures, I only weight 276 lbs, but I've seen 400 lbs before pics.

Hopefully you can learn to be more constructive, and if you work in the fitness industry, I can't ever see how you could motivate anyone with your comments.

Soldier's End Of Post:
I'm usually the type of person that doesn't let things get to them, but this one cut me to the core... I was literally sick to my stomach... when I told my wife, she tried to console me but to no avail...

It hurt.

Can you believe that? That is just messed up! The thing that has me scratching my head is why would that moron go out of his way to e-mail this poor guy to insult him??!!

Good morning guys! I hope that everyone had a Merry Christmas! My family and I had a great day! Even though my daughter is sick ( seems to happen every freaking holiday ), my kids really enjoyed their day. I finally got a much needed Blackberry!!! Woohoo!!!

Okay, now, onto today's post. Today I had wanted to talk about one of the most sought after goals of anyone starting on a diet and exercise program.....GETTING THOSE SIX PACK ABS!!

Now, there is one common misconception when it comes to getting six pack abs/flat tummy. That misconception is that ab exercises are the answer. Nope!

You know what ab exercises do? They build the muscles UNDER your belly fat. If you consistently and strictly focus on just doing ab exercises without putting your primary focus on proper nutrition, those ab muscles you are building are now pushing your stubborn stomach fat out further!

So, with that said, you can probably already see where I'm going with this.....yup.....that's right.....you have to place your focus on LOSING BELLY FAT FIRST.

Guys, it's simple. In order to lose stubborn belly fat...and total body fat for that matter, it comes down to this:

1. Reduce stress: Stress causes a release of cortisol which is then stored primarily as belly fat.

2. Exercise: You have to do both cardiovascular and weight training exercises. If you have a lot of body fat to lose, I recommend that you increase the intensity of your workouts. If you need help with a good workout plan, I recommend for you to check out the Turbulence Training program. The "TT" program is designed for anyone to achieve excellent physical fitness levels....and burn belly fat....even in the comfort of home.

3. Consistency: No matter what, if you are not 100% consistent with your efforts to burn fat and lose weight, you will see little to no results. What does consistency mean? That means when you BEGIN on a diet....no cheat days! That means that the whole "1 cheeseburger isn't going to hurt" attitudes just isn't going to work. That means the "I exercised enough.....even though it was only two days for the whole week" just isn't going to work. In order to lose STUBBORN fat, you have to stay consistent.

Now, with that said, in order to get six pack abs, those three things are pointless unless you implement the #1 rule of health and weight loss: nutrition!!

As the title states: "Six Pack Abs Are Built In The Kitchen". Proper nutrition is the backbone of any successful plan to build six pack abs, lose weight, and burn fat. Getting proper nutrition consists of:

1. What you eat: Protein, fiber, healthy fats such as fish and nuts, and foods rich in vitamins and minerals.

2. How much: Obviously, eating in excess of your predetermined daily calorie intake will not provide fat loss and weight loss, it will in turn provide weight gain or keep you steady at your current weight. If you need to find out how much calories you should get daily, use the Body Mass Index Calculator here at the bottom of the page.

What you want to do is focus more on BURNING off calories....not reducing them. Significantly reducing calories can cause your metabolism to slow down. A slow metabolism senses starvation and will store calories as fat....as a way of 'protecting' you. Listen, if you are having difficulties with proper nutrition and you need a customized nutritional plan based off your body type, I recommend for you to try this nutrition plan here.

So, if you want to get rid of belly fat, remember that six pack abs are built in the kitchen....FIRST, and that nothing will work unless you are 100% consistent.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!

I like to wish all of my visitors and subscribers a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! May your holiday season be joyous and safe.

It's inevitable. When you start living a healthy lifestyle, temptations to eat bad foods will creep up on you every now and then. Is there a way to avoid temptations to indulge in bad foods while dieting and living a healthier lifestyle?

Well, in an older post, 7 Emergency Tips To Stop Food Cravings Quick, I talked about some quick methods to help you stop food cravings. In this post, I would like to talk about how to avoid ever getting into that position where you'll begin craving foods.

To avoid temptations, what I did was what I would like to call a "clean sweep" of unhealthiness everywhere around me. Starting with my kitchen, I got rid of anything and everything that is unhealthy. If you do not have anything in your kitchen that you can end up slipping and indulging on, you can easily beat ever getting food cravings to begin with.

Now, here's a very common problem: What if there are other people in your household (spouse, children, etc.) who do eat those foods you need to avoid? Well, there is really only one way to handle this....tell them, "oh well, you're just going to have to eat what I eat.....or you ain't eating at all!!!" lol

Seriously though, the way I handled this in my household was to simply integrate healthier versions of the foods my family usually would have ate. For example: Instead of regular ground beef, I buy ground turkey, instead of whole milk, I get fat free, instead of white bread, I get the "soft" wheat bread (tastes just like white bread, and I also make sure to get the brand with no high fructose corn syrup), instead of kool-aid and soda, I get 100% juices, etc.

By doing that I was able to accomplish two goals:

1. I can stick with my healthy lifestyle without facing temptations.
2. I can get my family healthier without making them feel forced to live my healthy lifestyle.

Listen, let's face it, we are all weak when beginning on a diet. Why allow yourself to fall into your weakness by keeping unhealthy foods around you? Just imagine: here you are exercising and eating healthy all day long, and then BOOM, you get a craving for something chocolate....and guess what you have in your cabinet....a pack of Oreo's just sitting there smiling at you! By not having those types of foods around you, you'll be able to calm those cravings, and better yet, not even get those cravings to begin with.

Also, if you need some tips on what to do with special occasions (Thanksgiving dinner, Christmas dinner, weddings, parties, etc.) and dieting, check out this post here.

Well guys, I just couldn't stay away from the gym. lol

In my previous post here, I mentioned that I had to take a vacation from going to the gym because of my patella tendinitis in both of my knees. I was supposed to take off for a couple of months and allow my knees to heal....my obsession with exercise and playing basketball just couldn't let me stay away from the gym!

Obviously my wife is pissed ( my ears are still ringing from getting yelled at...lol ), so what I did was instead of just continuing to go to the gym and abuse my knees even more, I've decided to get some personal training done  at the gym to help me strengthen the muscles that affect my patella (hips, glutes, hamstrings, quadriceps). I guess you can look at it as sort of a compromise. hehe

I had my first personal training session on Friday, and all I have to say is.......WOW!! I had no freaking idea how weak my lower body is and how all of those muscles mentioned above had an effect on my knee caps. That workout with the personal trainer was the absolute best lower body workout I have ever had!

I was sold with working with this personal trainer the second he mentioned to stay away from isolation exercises ( working out single muscles ). If you remember, I previously talked about how ineffective and dangerous isolation exercises are, and how doing compound exercises are better for you here and here.

Most of my workout was based around just trying to find out where my main weakness is. Apparently it's my hips. So, for the next several months, I'm going to be focusing on strengthening all of my lower body muscles with personal training so that I can get me knees better. Also, he's going to be working with me to increase my vertical leap....which will come in handy since I love playing basketball! Just imagine....5'10 being able to dunk.....woohoo!!! lol

Good morning guys! Today is a guest post from Kelly Kilpatrick of Massage Certificate Online.

As a nation, we have a very high number of obese people and related health complications. Getting ourselves out of this predicament is essential to improving our health and general well-being. There are a few things we can all do right away and fuse into our daily routines that will help us to live happy, healthier, and longer lives.

Stop Eating Fast Food

Fast food is full of saturated fat, is high in calories, and is ultimately horrible for your body. Eliminating the consumption of fast food will certainly help you get on the road toward proper health and nutrition. Some things that are served at fast food restaurants may seem like they’re okay, but even salads can have just as many or more calories than a greasy double cheeseburger.

Eat Natural and Organic Foods

Making the change may seem daunting at first, but you will grow used to your new diet in time. The cost of organic foods may seem slightly more, but think of all the harmful chemicals used for fertilization and pest control that won’t make it into your body in small amounts. Eat foods the way they were intended to be eaten, not how you’ve grown used to them. Many great organic snack foods and even meats are available at local grocery stores.

Supplement Your Intake

Many adults in this country are suffering from sever malnutrition and don’t even know it. Start by taking a multivitamin and go to a supplement or health food store. The employees are usually very knowledgeable about what will help you with certain conditions and ailments and are excited to share their knowledge with you. Make sure that your body is nourished and feel yourself getting healthier with each passing day.

Establish an Exercise Regimen

Joining a gym may be the first of many necessary steps to get your body back in shape. Spending a session or two with a personal trainer will help you to establish good exercise habits and proper form in the execution of your training program. Check back with a trainer here and there to make sure that you are doing things properly and for any adjustments to your program.

Stay Active

Besides your exercise regimen, it is going to be very important for you to stay active on a daily basis. Don’t resign yourself to the couch when there are things to be done. Making sure that things are running smoothly in other parts of your life will affect your health as well, so don’t put things off. Keep up with your active lifestyle and never put off for tomorrow what can be done today. You’ll certainly thank yourself later.

P.S. Hey guys, there is a new diet program that just came out I thought you would be interested in. It's called the Pineapple 2 Slim diet program. I haven't had the chance to review it yet, but it has been receiving a lot of rave reviews. Check it out below....

There are a few things you are going to have to do away with when starting on a healthy lifestyle. One of those things is consuming alcoholic beverages due to the calorie content, carb content, and lack of nutritional value (empty calories). However, the Miller Brewing Company just may have come up with a beer that tailors to us health conscious folks...and that beer is called Miller Genuine Draft Light (64 Calorie).

Nutritional facts (1 12oz. bottle/can):

Calories - 64
Carbs - 2.4g
Protein - 1g
Fat - 0.0g
Alcohol Volume - 2.8%

Not bad huh?

I love beer. So, it was obviously hard for me to do away with beer when I started dieting and exercising. Because of that, I went on a quest to find the perfect beer for health conscious people, and decided to drink Miller Lite due to the low calories/carbs and for the taste. However, the calories and carb content still concerned me. So, I decided to purchase a case (I know, I know...why would I purchase a case and I never tried the stuff.....well, I'm in the holiday spending mood...okay!! lol) of the new Miller Genuine Draft Light 64 calorie beer, and let me tell you, it's actually not that bad....which surprised me.

I'm not a beer connoisseur by any stretch of the imagination, but my personal review of this beer is as follow:

The taste is as expected....VERY light. Even still, it does taste pretty good. I also do not feel bloated afterwards, and there is no after taste. All in all, I really like this beer.

So, if you are trying to lose weight and watch your health, or if you want a beer that has a low alcohol amount to enjoy for special occasions (holiday, wedding, etc.), then I recommend for you to try out Miller Genuine Draft Light 64 calorie beer.

Have you tried this beer out before? Did you like it? Do you prefer another type of "healthy version" beer? Comment below.....

This is the theme song to the HBO Boxing 24/7 show. When I first heard this song it was when the show first began with showcasing the lives leading up to the big fight of Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Oscar De La Hoya.

Let me tell you, after hearing that theme song.....I was ready to hit the weights and start going crazy!! This song is such a perfect song to get you focused and amped up to exercise.

So, if you need some motivating music, check out the song below....

Well guys, my knees have finally won the battle with me being stubborn! I am taking a temporary vacation from the gym until my knees get better. My stubbornness came to an end when I took a 3 point shot playing basketball and when I came down I felt an unbelievable pain in my left knee. Of course me being Mr. Macho Man, I tried to play it off as I quickly left the gym in excruciating pain.....lol! :)

Just in case some of you may not know from previous posts, I have patella tendinitis (jumper's knee) in both of my knees. This came from doing a lot of jumping and running on hard surfaces (playing basketball), plus from doing leg exercises (leg extensions), without properly warming up and stretching (which is key #2 on my list of the 5 Keys To A Perfect Workout post). Obviously I have learnt my lesson....BUT....unfortunately I'm still paying for my hardheadedness from awhile back! :(

Well, since my knees have my undivided attention, does this mean I'm not going to be working out......hahaha....that's a good one! NEVER! The reason my knees are so bad is because I'm addicted to working out.....so trust me, I'm not using my gym vacation as an excuse to sit back and relax! HOWEVER, I'm going to make sure I strengthen my legs (in particular around my knees), and allow my knees to completely heal without doing any type of exercise that can cause more damage.

I'm actually pretty excited with making the switch from the gym to home. There are a gazillion exercise ideas I have, some of which I've already shared with you guys in previous posts. Also, some of my exercise routines will come from the popular Turbulence Training program (which I highly recommend if you want to stay home and get fit....without spending a fortune on equipment or gym memberships).

But all in all, I'm going to make sure I have everything planned out and set up for me to comfortably workout at home with no hiccups.

So, with that said, my advice to you is:

#1. Make sure you follow your doctor's recommendations before beginning an exercise regimen.

#2. Always have a back up plan just in case you have to break your current exercise routine (rather it be at home or gym), so that way you won't end up possibly losing motivation to continue on your quest for better health.

Wish me luck! This is going to be weird....lol!

Good morning guys and gals!

Do you suffer from anxiety and/or panic attacks? Today I would like to share an article with you from Joe Barry which discusses the topic of how can you eliminate anxiety attacks and panic attacks permanently.

Eliminate Anxiety and Panic Attacks For Good

If you suffer from...

* Palpitations

* A pounding heart, or an accelerated heart rate

* Sweating

* Trembling or shaking

* Shortness of breath

* A choking sensation

* Chest pain or discomfort

* Nausea or stomach cramps

* De- realization (a feeling of unreality)

* Fear of losing control or going crazy

* Fear of dying Numbness or a tingling sensation

* Chills or hot flashes

...then you've experienced firsthand some of the possible symptoms of a panic or anxiety attack. If you are reading this page because a loved one suffers from these symptoms and you are trying to understand or help, it's hard to appreciate what they go through.

Just try to imagine what it feels like to experience one, if you can.

Here is a typical example:

Standing in a supermarket queue, it’s been a long wait but only one customer to go before you make it to the cashier. Wait, what was that sensation? An unpleasant feeling forms in your throat, your chest feels tighter, now a sudden shortness of breath, and what do you know—your heart skips a beat. “Please, God, not here.”

A quick scan of the territory—is it threatening? Four unfriendly faces queue behind, one person in front. Pins and needles seem to prick you through your left arm, you feel slightly dizzy, and then the explosion of fear as you dread the worst. You are about to have a panic attack.

There is no doubt in your mind now that this is going to be a big one. Okay, focus: Remember what you have been taught, and it is time now to apply the coping techniques. Begin the deep breathing exercise your doctor recommended. In through the nose, out through the mouth.

Think relaxing thoughts, and again, while breathing in, think “Relax,” and then breathe out. But it doesn’t seem to be having any positive effect; in fact, just concentrating on breathing is making you feel self-conscious and more uptight.

Okay, coping technique 2:

Gradual muscle relaxation. Tense both shoulders, hold for 10 seconds, then release. Try it again. No; still no difference. The anxiety is getting worse and the very fact that you are out of coping techniques worsens your panic. If only you were surrounded by your family, or a close friend were beside you so you could feel more confident in dealing with this situation.

Now, the adrenaline is really pumping through your system, your body is tingling with uncomfortable sensations, and now the dreaded feeling of losing complete control engulfs your emotions. No one around you has any idea of the sheer terror you are experiencing. For them, it’s just a regular day and another frustratingly slow queue in the supermarket.

You are out of options. Time for Plan C.

The most basic coping skill of all is “fleeing.” Excuse yourself from the queue; you are slightly embarrassed as it is now that it is your turn to pay. The cashier is looking bewildered as you leave your shopping behind and stroll towards the door. There is no time for excuses—you need to be alone. You leave the supermarket and get into your car to ride it out alone. Could this be the big one? The one you fear will push you over the edge mentally and physically. Ten minutes later the panic subsides.

It’s 10:30 a.m. How are you going to make it through the rest of the day?

If you suffer from panic or anxiety attacks, the above scenario probably sounds very familiar. It may have even induced feelings of anxiety and panic just reading it. The particular situations that trigger your panic and anxiety may differ; maybe the bodily sensations are a little different. Or maybe it happened to you for the first time on a plane, in the dentist chair, or even at home, while doing nothing in particular.

If you have ever had what has become known as a “panic attack,” take comfort in the fact that you are by no means alone.

A panic attack always comes with the acute sense of impending doom. You feel you are either about to lose your mind or one of your vital bodily functions is about to cease functioning and you will end your days right there among the canned goods and frozen food.

You are by no means alone; you’re not even one in a million. In America, it is estimated that almost 5% of the population suffer from some form of anxiety disorder. For some, it may be the infrequent panic attacks that only crop up in particular situations-like when having to speak in front of others, while, for other people, it can be so frequent and recurring that it inhibits them from leaving their home. Frequent panic attacks often develop into what medical physicians refer to as an “anxiety disorder.”

One of the first steps to regaining control of your life is getting helpful information. This site will give you that, and more.

The beginning of your recovery starts here. What you will learn is that there is a very good chance you are about to end the cycle of panic attacks in your life. You will learn not only to regain the carefree life you remember once having, but will also gain new confidence in living. Your answer to living free from “panic” or “anxiety attacks” is at hand.

This site demonstrates that the panic and anxiety that you have experienced will be the very key to your courage and success.

Begin the road to recovery by browsing through the site. While many of you may have read almost everything you can possibly read relating to panic and anxiety I assure you this site offers something very effective.

Did you know...?

The key difference between someone who is cured of panic attacks and those who are not is really very simple. The people who are cured no longer fear panic attacks. I’ll try to show you how to be one of these people as well.

What if I told you the trick to ending panic and anxiety attacks is to want to have one. That sounds strange, even contradictory, but let me explain.

The trick to panic attacks is wanting to have one-the wanting pushes it away. Can you have a panic attack in this very second? No!

You know the saying that "what you resist, persists." Well that saying applies perfectly to fear. If you resist a situation out of fear, the fear around that issue will persist. How do you stop resisting–you move directly into it, into the path of the anxiety, and by doing so it cannot persist.

In essence what this means is that if you daily voluntarily seek to have a panic attack, you cannot have one. Try in this very moment to have a panic attack and I will guarantee you cannot. You may not realize it but you have always decided to panic. You make the choice by saying this is beyond my control.

Another way to appreciate this is to imagine having a panic attack as like standing on a cliff's edge. The anxiety seemingly pushes you closer to falling over the edge.

To be rid of the fear you must metaphorically jump. You must jump off the cliff edge and into the anxiety and fear and all the things that you fear most.

How do you jump? You jump by wanting to have a panic attack. You go about your day asking for anxiety and panic attacks to appear.

Your real safety is the fact that a panic attack will never harm you. That is medical fact. You are safe, the sensations are wild but no harm will come to you. Your heart is racing but no harm will come to you. The jump becomes nothing more than a two foot drop! Perfectly safe.

Hey Guys!

Todays post is a guest post by my wife, Kelly Barnes. She is going to be writing a quick review for a protein powder for women called ISO Femme. We received it yesterday as a sample pack along with a shipment of supplements I had ordered (whey protein and green tea extract).

Hi guys, I'm Kelly Barnes, Avy's wife. I had wanted to give you guys a review on the womens protein supplement, ISO Femme.

As Avy already mentioned above, it came as a sample along with his order.....obviously he couldn't test it out......lol!

Firstly, let me talk about the nutritional facts....

The following is for 1 scoop (1 serving)

Calories - 115
Fat - o.2 grams
Trans Fat - 0.0 grams
Sat. Fat - 0.1 grams
Cholesterol - 1.6 mg
Carbs - 1.0 gram
Sugars - 1.0 gram
Fiber - 0.1 grams
Sodium - 53.2 mg
Potassium - 144 mg
Protein - 27 grams (90% pure protein in each scoop)
Vitamin C - 0%
Calcium - 13%
Iron - 2%
Gluten Free
Non Estrogenic Proteins
98% Lactose Free

Not bad huh?

The amount of protein per serving is great! I especially like the very low fat and carbs. The only negative is the amount of sodium.

Now, I'm not too into supplements and health like Avy, but I still do try to live as healthy as I can......especially with Avy around...lol. So I don't have too much of a scientific analysis about this product, but I can tell you that it tastes great (the sample was the "chocolate tempatation" flavor), it gave me a ton of energy, and as you can see above, it's very nutritious.

It comes in three flavors, chocolate temptation, creamy vanilla sky, and strawberry fiesta.

So ladies, if you're looking for an affordable and nutritious protein supplement, I recommend for you to give ISO Femme a try. I think they also have sample packets you can purchase if you just want to try out it first.

Find out more about it here: Iso Femme Womens Protein Supplement

Thanks for reading!

One of the ways you can quickly lose weight is by making your lifestyle an active lifestyle. When I say active lifestyle, I don't mean you simply get out and do some form of exercise daily, but you remain active through majority of your day. The same theory of how you nick picking small unhealthy foods can add up the calories, the same can be applied to small little activities you can do through out the day to burn off calories. One of those activities, which is incredibly fun, is doing T.V. exercises.

I read about this idea from another site and thought I would share it with you guys. When you are watching a television show, perform a particular exercise every time a certain 'something' happens during one of your favorite shows.

For example:

Family Guy: When the show goes to Peter talking about his "like that one time" scenes, do 15 jumping jacks.

Any Show: Do 10 pushups during commercial breaks.

You get the idea. I'm telling you, it is fun! Give it try!

Are there actually 'healthy' shortcuts for fast weight loss....with no strings attached? Read on...

I'll admit it, when I first started exercising and dieting, I wanted an easy quick fix to reach my weight loss goals and reach them quickly. What did I do? I turned to diet pills and fad diet programs. What were the results? I lost weight...and a lot of it!! BUT....I ended up regaining the weight right back, binge eating, and pretty much ended up frustrated, depressed, and feeling a lack of motivation to continue living a healthy lifestyle. Oh yeah, I was also broke from spending a fortune on those quick fix methods!!

You know that saying: "slow and steady wins the race"? Well, that would be a perfect slogan for dieting and weight loss. Going about dieting and weight loss with patience and diligence will pay off in the long run. However, we're still human. One of our natural instincts is to get things quick and in a hurry. Is there a way to lose weight quickly....but not too fast....and is actually safe? Well let's take a look-see, shall we.......

Firstly, let's talk about some of the popular unhealthy shortcuts to quick weight loss. Here are some examples (in no particular order):

1. Fasting - Can lead to a slowed metabolism which will cause yo-yo dieting.

2. Diet pills- Dangerous for your heart and can cause yo-yo dieting.

3. Fad diets- Dangerous for your overall health since most fad dieting restricts you from particular important food groups (no carbs, no fat, etc.), and also encourage #4...

4. Drastically reducing calories- As mentioned above, this is usually a staple of a fad diet program. In theory it makes sense....take in way less calories than usual, and you'll lose weight. Yes, it works, however it is dangerous for your health. Drastically reducing calories will slow down your metabolism and will caused stored fat plus you can end up regaining weight back.

5. Overexercising- It's perfectly fine for you to get motivated and amped up to hit the gym or start an exercise routine, however, going crazy exercising for hours at a time to try and speed up weight loss is.....well.....crazy!

Now, what would be some healthy shortcuts for fast, but safe, weight loss?

1. Eat more green veggies - The more green veggies you eat, the more active your digestive system will be due to the increase of fiber. The more active your digestive system is, the faster your metabolism. The faster your metabolism is, the higher the rate of which your body will burn off calories.

2. Detox (The Healthy Way) - Even though most of us avoid acknowleding the possibility of there being living parasites in our bodies keeping us fat, mainly because of how disgusting and invasive it sounds, the fact of the matter is, this just may be a fact. Detoxing your body will help cleanse out your system from harmful parasites and other toxins. If you need an excellent and affordable detox system that steers clear of the unhealthy methods of detoxing (pills, potions, and lotions) and want to learn more about parasites, I highly recommend for you to visit this site: http://www.getridoffatnow.info to learn more.

3. High Intensity Cardio - Instead of doing the looooonnnngggg boring cardio routines, increase the intensity of your cardio workouts to spark your metabolism and melt fat away. Some examples of high intensity cardio can be found here. With doing short high intensity cardio exercises, not only will you boost your metabolism, you will also preserve muscle tissue. Maintaining muscle is extremely important if you want to burn off fat.

4. Good Ol' H20 - Drink PLENTY of water daily. You hear this very often, and with good reason.....your body needs it! After all, our bodies are primarily made up of water. As far as weight loss, drinking plenty of water daily will help your kidneys dispose of waste and you'll be able to metabolize fat much more faster. I recommend for you to drink at least 1/2 gallon of water daily. I personally drink 1 gallon or more daily. This is mainly due to my intense workouts and because I think I was a camel in a past life...lol.

5. Eat Several Baby Meals Daily - Instead of eating the usual 2-3 big meals daily, eat 5-6 small healthy meals. Start with breakfast. NEVER skip breakfast (skipping breakfast is a surefire recipe of binge eating later in the day and also slows down your metabolism). After breakfast, eat small healthy meals through out the day (make sure to have protein and fiber with each meal to help you feel even more full and to help with muscle tissue development). By eating frequently through out the day, you'll be less hungry, and you'll keep your digestive system active and therefore you'll boost your metabolism.

So, if you are looking for some healthy shortcuts for fast weight loss, give some of those tips a try to help you with your weight loss goals.

My workout I just had this morning is an excellent example of what happens when you follow the 5 keys to a perfect workout, and is also the inspiration for today's post.

When trying to lose weight and burn fat, I'm pretty sure you understand that the two primary factors are nutrition and exercise. Nutrition is the most important. Without practicing proper nutrition, everything else is useless. If you need help with proper nutrition, I recommend for you to get a customized nutritional plan here.

Now, when it comes to exercising, there are 5 keys that must all be in place to unlock the perfect workout. I'll explain later on how you'll know that you've unlocked the perfect workout.

Okay, let's talk about the 5 keys:

Key #1 - Pre And Post Workout Nutrition: Providing your body with proper nutritional fuel before and after your workouts is a very important step to getting the most out of your exercise sessions. Pre-workout nutrition is important since it'll provide you with energy and should consist of foods containing healthy carbs such as bananas or apples. It's important to make sure you do not take in too many calories before your workout since what you've just eaten will be the calories you'll be burning instead of stored calories. Post workout nutrition should consist of protein sources such as a protein shake (I recommend whey protein) lean poultry, etc., and also healthy carbohydrates to help your body with muscle recovery.

Key #2 - Stretching And Warming Up: Yes, I'll admit it, stretching is boring! However, getting injured, getting sore muscles, damaging joints, going through physical therapy, not allowing muscles to grow properly, and feeling like crap after a workout are pretty much good enough reasons to make sure you stretch and warm up before your workouts.

Key #3 - Cardiovascular Exercise: There are many forms of cardio exercising. I always recommend short high intensity cardio (sprinting, incline treadmill) or by getting cardiovascular benefits with weight training by doing supersets (alternating between two different workouts without rest). The reason for doing short high intensity cardio over long boring cardio is because you will preserve muscle tissue (just look at the physiques of sprinters like what I discussed more about in my other post here) and will get a much more better overall workout.

Key #4 - Weight Training: Building lean muscle, no matter if you are a woman, a man, young, old, weak, or strong, is extremely important if you have goals of weight loss and burning off fat. Muscle burns more calories than fat. The more muscle tissue you have on your body, the more your body will burn calories....even while you rest.....which leads to key #5.

Key #5 - Rest: Before my workout today, I ended up having 2 days of rest from my previous workout. I usually only have 1 day of rest between my workouts Monday-Friday. However, I was extremely busy yesterday and ended up skipping my workout (shhhh....don't tell anyone!). Well, because of that rest, today's workout was absolutely the best I've had for quite some time. Allowing your body to recover will pay off in huge dividends. Not only will your next workout feel great because of the extra energy, you will also allow your muscles to grow properly and your joints to heal properly (I usually have problems with my knees and they felt great today).

Now....

You Have Just Unlocked The Perfect Workout!

Understand that all 5 keys are linked together to unlock the perfect workout. If just one key is skipped, trust me, your body will let you know!

Now, how do you know that you have unlocked the perfect workout?

1. Energy - You should feel an abundance of energy after a workout.....not cranky and miserable.

2. Reduced Stress - You'll feel a lot more positive and relaxed. This is due in part to the release of positive endorphins from a good energetic workout. Also, you'll feel positive because after completing a good workout, you'll feel as though you've just taken a huge step forward to getting the body of your dreams!

3. Clearer Mind - You'll be able to think more sharper.

Follow the 5 keys to a having the perfect workout and you'll develop the body you've always wanted. Not only that, you will feel a better sense of well-being, and also prevent injury and other possible complications.

Burn Fat & Lose Weight Fast With The Strip That Fat Diet Program...

Good day guys and gals!

Okay, today in this post I would like to talk to you about how you can get rid of fat and lose weight faster by breaking your "comfort zone".

With everything you do in life, rather it be a career, a business, sports, or in this case, trying to lose weight, success only comes when you get out of your comfort zone.

Let's face it, our bodies are lazy. It does not like to be challenged. When you ignore your body and do what it doesn't want you to or expects you to, fat loss, and weight loss are inevitable!

Fat is stubborn. In order to get rid of stubborn fat, you have to push your body and give it a reason to burn off that stubborn fat. Constantly cruising along on the treadmill expecting different results just isn't going to happen. Yes, doing simple workouts like that will work for those who are already in shape and are just trying to maintain their weight. However, if you have a lot of fat to lose, you have to break your comfort zone and get intense with not just your workouts, but even with nutrition. Here is an excellent nutritional plan that will help you by creating a customized diet that is based around shifting the calories from the foods you eat to burn fat faster.

You'll be surprised by how dynamic your body actually is. Just when you think you've worked out hard enough, you are actually nowhere near the maximum potential of what your body is capable of. Push, push, push.....and you'll get rid of fat and stubborn pounds much more quicker!

Now, please understand me here. Yes, you have to work harder and break your comfort zone in order to lose fat faster, HOWEVER, please do not train until the point of exhaustion.....that's not working hard.....that's working yourself into a hospital bed or physical therapist office!!!

To give you an example of what I mean when I say work harder, but not to the point of exhaustion, would be:

1. Instead of regular walking on the treadmill, increase the incline and the speed a little.
2. Do a couple of extra repetitions when weight training.
3. Jog, sprint, or run a little further or longer each time.

By doing this, you are breaking your comfort zone (pushing your body and mind), and you will notice a tremendous difference at the rate of speed in which you'll be burning off fat and losing weight. Also, you will feel great about yourself and get more motivated since you are realizing that you actually have  a lot more capabilities than you ever thought you had.

**As always, please make sure you consult a physician before beginning any type of workout or nutritional regimen.**

Good morning guys!

Are you searching for the quickest way to lose weight? Well, the first thing you should take note of is to not associate quick weight loss with artificial methods such as diet pills and fad diets. Those things are dangerous and usually lead to yo-yo dieting and several health complications. If you need a smart diet program that can assist you with your weight loss efforts by creating a customized nutritional plan and fitness plan based off of your body, then check out these programs here

Now, what would be a SAFE, but quick way to lose weight?

The fastest way to lose weight is found right between your ears. Yup, that's right....your mind. Taking control over your mind will allow you to become more self-disciplined and motivated to stay consistent with your weight loss goals.

When you fight your mind, it will make you stronger with each and every episode. For example, let's say you get an urge to have a snicker's bar. Instead of you giving in to your mind and indulging in the candy bar, you fight that urge and have an apple instead. Another example would be if you awake one day and are too tired to go the gym. Instead of you giving up and refusing to go, you fight your mind and force yourself to get to the gym. By consistently fighting your mentality whenever you come across one of your weaknesses with living a healthier lifestlye, you will consistently grow stronger with self-discipline and motivation.

You and your mind are at war with each other, if you want your body to come out victorious in the end, here are the weapons of choice...

The biggest setback most of us face trying to lose weight is:

Procrastination- Nike has the perfect slogan for this common mental setback.....Just Do It! When you don't feel like exercising, just do it! When you don't have the taste to eat something healthy, just do it! It sounds simple, but you will be amazed by what happens when you fight your mind and your laziness and.....just do it! What'll end up happening is that you will begin to develop self-discipline.

I actually used this principle to help me quit smoking 6 years ago. Most people think I'm lying when I tell them how I quit.....all I did was just do it.....and I did it cold turkey! When you fight your mind, and don't give in to eating poorly, avoiding exercise, and even smoking......consistently......you'll be successful!

So, one of the quickest and most natural ways to lose weight is to take control of your mind. YOU control YOU, and your motivation level will skyrocket, and you will develop self-discipline to maintain living a healthy lifestyle.

If you need help, please feel free to comment below or e-mail me and I will be glad to help you. I know how tough it is to stay motivated with health and weight loss. Believe in yourself, take control of your mind, and never quit! You can do it!
