Is it really possible to lose 2 pounds in 1 week without exercising? Better yet, can this be done without any adverse effects? Read on...

Now, the first thing I want to address is that I highly recommend for you to include some type of exercising no matter what your goals are. It doesn't matter if you are in shape, out of shape, obese, morbidly obese, etc. Exercise is absolutely important in anyone's life and should not be taken lightly. Exercise will assist you with good heart health, cardiovascular health, and so much more!

This post is basically just for those who are having a current difficulty to add some type of solid exercise regimen into their daily life....at the moment. Remember, there is always some time in the day to devote to some type of exercise to shed fat, drop pounds, and/or maintain your current physique....heck, you could do 25 jumping jacks while you're reading this post! LOL!

Okay, now let's talk about how it can be possible to "safely" lose 2 lbs. in 1 week if you can't start exercising just yet.

Alright, let's break it all down:

There are three critical components of a healthy lifestyle that will produce an awesome body both internally and externally. Those three components are:

1.) Lose weight and maintain a healthy weight.

2.) Build muscle and maintain lean muscle tissue.

3.) Burn fat and keep fat off.

Sounds simple and pretty obvious until you dig a little deeper....

You see, most folks who experience failure with dieting usually about 99% of the time did something that went against one of those three critical components above.

Here's how to fail with dieting based on the 3 things mentioned above:

1.) You try to lose weight too fast. This will ultimately cause your metabolism to decrease which can lead to yo-yo weight loss.

2.) You reduced calories too much, or you are doing too much cardiovascular exercises without getting enough protein and calories in your diet. This will all lead to a loss of muscle tissue.

3.) If you get on fad diets, use diet pills, starve yourself, etc., this will also decrease your metabolism...which can also lead to your body STORING body fat instead of burning it off!

Now that you understand those points, let's talk about how to drop two pounds in 7 days naturally and without causing any adverse effects on your weight loss journey.

Okay, you probably already know that 1 pound is 3500 calories, right? Well, that would mean that we're going to need to minus 7,000 calories this week in order to reach our weight loss goal. So, let's break this down to get you in those skinny jeans by next week!

What you want to first do is find out how many calories you need to intake daily to MAINTAIN your current weight. Click here to find that out.

Welcome back! Alright, now that you have that number, let's get started.

1. Food - Never, and I mean NEVER, reduce calories too much (see critical component #1 above)! What I recommend for you to do is to reduce your daily "maintenance" number by no more than 300 calories. So, if you need to consume 2,000 calories daily to maintain your current weight, reduce this number to 1,700.

2. Daily Activities - So, we now have 300 calories reduced which will add up to 2,100 calories for the week. We need 4,900 more to lose 2 pounds in 1 week....and that's where daily activities come into play. That's right....you can burn a ton of calories off doing normal daily activities!

Take a look at just some of the basic daily activities and the calories you can burn:

  • Eating - 100+ calories per hour.
  • Bathing - 100+ calories per hour.
  • Taking the stairs (UP) - 300+ calories per hour.
  • Simple walking (Parking lot to store, around the house, to work or school, etc.) - 200+ calories per hour.
  • Sleeping - 60+ calories per hour. (Whoa! That's roughly 3,500 calories a week based off of sleeping 8 hours a night! Are you getting excited yet?)
  • Driving - 100+ calories per hour. (I probably burn thousands of calories since I fuss and throw temper tantrums every time I drive...lol!)
  • Standing - 100+ calories per hour.
With just those basic activities above, and given just a basic calculation of how much time we all typically devote to each of those tasks above on average, you could expect to burn......DRUM ROLL PLEASE.........6,960 calories per week!!! Boy, with that number, you don't even have to reduce calories let alone exercise and you'll still get fast and consistent weight loss!

So, with reducing 300 calories from our meals (remember to eat healthy and include ALL types of nutrients with no restrictions...including good carbs such as fiber and definitely protein) each day we get 2100 calories burned off, and with doing basic daily activities mentioned above, we burned off 6960 calories. That gives us a total of 9060 calories per week or roughly 2 1/2 pounds!

Alright my friend, I know you're probably excited, BUT, there is a little catch. That little catch is based on WHAT you eat each day.

Even if you followed the above by eating 300 calories below your maintenance and just did those basic activities above, if you are gobbling down some greasy cheeseburgers and french fries, your going to end up with some very unwanted results! Sure, the weight will go down (after all, a calorie is a calorie), HOWEVER, eating too many poor foods will lead to a mountain of problems including serious health risks! Remember those 3 critical components above? Eating poorly breaks ALL three! If you want results, just remember one of my quick memorable quotes: "eat right and you'll be alright!"

So, there you have it. A quick little weight loss plan to "safely" lose 2 pounds of fat in 1 week without exercising. Just remember, I highly recommend that you STILL include some form of exercise into your plan any which way you can to get the best results and to improve your overall health.

Good luck!
