42. I mean.....come on! Her body looks better and is in better physical conditioning than most young people!

When I see Dara Torres, the first thing I think of is...hope. It gives me hope knowing that at any age, anything is possible. Age does not matter with nothing in life. Look at Jim Garrett, father of Jason Garrett (offensive coach of the Dallas Cowboys), he's over 70 years old and still runs every day....for the past 28 years!

We should never look at age as an excuse to stop fitness and conditioning. That goes for young folks too! What I mean by that is when, you get the infamous, "I'm young, I'm skinny, I could never get fat, etc." responses you hear so often! Have you heard of the saying: What comes around, goes around?

No matter what your age is, treat your body with respect. EVERYONE should be doing some type of fitness and conditioning...young and older. Understand that I am talking here to those who are capable physically to get out there and do some type of exercise. I know that sometimes we all may face some unfortunate roadblocks in our lives, such as illnesses, injuries, arthritis, joint problems, etc. Even still, I personally would try some form of fitness and conditioning to maintain my health with of course, a doctors approval. You should also look at starting a healthy lifestyle to PREVENT those unfortunate roadblocks that could sometimes occur in our lives.

Besides exercise, you know for a fact that Dara Torres must have a strict diet. So, know that yes, you can get in great shape and stay in great shape, no matter what your age, but nothing is possible without proper nutrition. Proper nutrition is the backbone of any type of body, rather it's an unhealthy body or a Dara Torres or Michael Phelps body. "You are what you eat".

I urge you to read through my blog and search for the posts I have on proper nutrition. Proper nutrition is where it all starts. Put more emphasis on changing what foods you eat daily and your body will start to show remarkable results quicker than you can imagine. People put so much attention on all of these "ab machines", and other types of fitness doohickey's, but what they soon figure out, you will not see any results without taking great stock in what it is you are eating on a daily basis.

Now, we may not be able achieve the athletic abilities of an Olympic athlete like Dara Torres, but we sure can achieve a hot body like hers (I don't mean that specifically....since I and some of you readers are guys....you get my point...GEEZ!). What we also can learn from her is to never quit, know no limits, and when it comes to achieving great challenges in life (like an Olympic Gold Medal for crying out loud!), age don't mean a damn thing!

Start a healthy lifestyle, keep pushing forward, and never quit!
